Summary
I have seen a number of Mah Jong sets in-store (inc. Gibson Games
range) which can be ordered by mail, email or telephone. Prices range
from around £55 for an all-wooden set, £70 for a plastic
set, to around £90 for a bamboo and bone set.
Please note, if you are visiting in person, in my experience the Mah Jong, Chess, Playing Cards and Backgammon sets are usually grouped together. Sometimes within the children's toy department and other times not.
An email from someone (January 2008) said that they couldn't find any sets in Jenners, although they could order them in.

Delivery
In the UK deliveries are by 24 hour courier unless your items are very
light or small, which are sent by Royal Mail.
European Union orders are sent by Omega Couriers (part of Deutsche Post) and take 3-4 days on average. Online tracking numbers will be sent by email.
Orders to European countries which are not members of the EU, such as Norway and Switzerland require customs clearance. Unfortunately that adds to the cost of delivery because the couriers have to present the parcel to customs and obtain certification. In addition, you may have to pay local tax and duty. However, VAT at 17.5% is not payable.
Most items will require a signature on delivery.
